For customer success

Reviews and onboarding people finish.

Send the quarterly review before the meeting and see which stakeholders read it. Share one onboarding deck with every new user and see how far each person got. Answer questions on the page, and turn your answers into the next version.

The Harrow Retail account with two decks this quarter. The quarterly review, with the meeting on Thursday at 14:00, has four readers so far, and three of them read every page. The onboarding deck, Your first 30 days, has twelve readers: seven reached the end, three stopped part way and two stopped early. A Next version suggestion, drafted from an answer you gave, is ready for page 3 of the onboarding deck.

The job

Send the review, then present it cold.

The quarterly review goes out as an attachment and gets read in the first minutes of the meeting. The onboarding guide goes to every new user, and nobody knows who finished it or where they got stuck.

Without Decktrace: the calendar invite for the quarterly review with Harrow Retail, Thursday 14:00, with the review attached as a PDF. The agenda starts with fifteen minutes of reading the review together. Next to it, the onboarding guide emailed to twelve new users as a PDF, and no way to tell who opened it, who finished it or where anyone stopped.

Quarterly reviews

Walk in knowing who read the review.

Send the QBR a few days early. Each stakeholder's visits land on a timeline next to the meeting, with the pages they spent time on, so the meeting can start where their questions are.

  • Every visit before the meeting
  • Pages read and the time on each
  • Readers see a short notice about what is measured
Visits to the quarterly review from Monday to Thursday, with the meeting on Thursday at 14:00. Olivia Bennett read it on Tuesday for 6 minutes and again on Wednesday for 3 minutes, all 18 pages. Priya Shah read 12 of 18 pages on Tuesday. Marcus Hill read all 18 on Wednesday, 9 minutes. Tom Avery read all 18 on Thursday morning, 5 minutes. The most read page is page 5, seats and adoption.

Onboarding

See how far each new user got.

Share one onboarding deck with every new user. Each reader who signs in with an email shows up with their own progress, so you see who reached the end and where the others stopped.

How far each reader got through Your first 30 days with Brightlane, on day 12, for twelve readers. Stopped early, 2: Aisha Khan and Ben Carter, both at step 1. Part way, 3: Leo Martin, last visit three days ago at step 2, connect your HR system; Nora Hughes, stopped at step 3, add your first store; and one more. Reached the end, 7: Sam Patel on day 6, Ella Ward on day 8, and five more.

Questions

Answer questions where they come up.

New users ask on the page they are reading. You get an email for each new question and reply in context, and the thread keeps the page, version and language.

  • Each question keeps the page it was asked on
  • Private between each user and you
  • Your answers can shape the next version
Questions on the onboarding deck, version 3, each with the page it was asked on. Leo Martin, verified, on page 3, connect your HR system, on day 9, in English: Where do I find our HR system's API key? Your reply on page 3: In your HR system, open Settings, then Integrations. I have added a screenshot to this page. Two more questions: Sam Patel on page 5, invite your managers, waiting for your reply, and Ella Ward on page 1, welcome, answered.

Next version

Make the next version easier to finish.

After you answer a question, Decktrace suggests where that answer belongs in the deck and drafts the addition. You edit it, approve it and publish it as a new version of the same link. Suggestions drawn from where readers slow down or stop are coming soon.

  • Starts from your own answers
  • Opens as a draft you can edit
  • Nothing is published until you approve it
A Next version card for page 3 of the onboarding deck. Now, version 3: one dense page on connecting your HR system. Suggested: the same page with a new block that says where to find the API key. Question: Leo asked on page 3 where to find the HR system's API key. Your answer: in your HR system, open Settings, then Integrations. Suggested place: page 3, under Connect your HR system, add where to find the key. Your call: you edit, approve and publish it as version 4, and when a later user asks something similar your answer is offered as a starting point for the reply.

Questions

Customer success, answered.

Yes. Each stakeholder who opens the link shows up with their visits, the time they spent on each page and the last page they reached. How a reader is labelled depends on how they got in: an open link shows an anonymous reader, an email and password shows the email they entered, and an email code shows a verified email.

Share the onboarding deck as one link. Each new user who signs in with an email shows up with their own progress: the pages they reached, where they stopped and any questions they asked.

Start each one from the same template or PDF. Every customer gets their own deck, their own link and their own readers, so one account's reading never mixes with another's.

No. After you answer a question, Decktrace suggests where the answer belongs in the deck and drafts the addition. You edit it, approve it and publish it, and nothing is sent or published until you choose.
